We facilitate positive change & development in organizations, teams, groups & individuals.

Too much conflict leads to costly disputes and damages the culture, too little conflict and there is a lack of engagement and you risk losing your key people. Our development programs allow you to have the right conversations with a better understanding of the positive potential of creative conflict.

Having the skills and competencies to be able to navigate conflict and change is hugely important in the world now and for future capability.

We have seen first-hand how people do not reach their potential because they persist with a traditional approach to HR and people management when there is a much better alternative available. Providing clear boundaries which gives people involved in the work and being proactive about working with conflict improves engagement and performance.

We also use specialist consultants on a retained basis. If the expertise isn’t in-house we can source and project manage it and we use associates when particular specialisms are required.

Meet Roger Dwan

Roger Dwan is the Founder and Lead Consultant at Cube Consulting.

He has been working in the areas of Human Resources, Conflict Management & Leadership Development since 2002 and brings a wealth of experience.

There are very few work-related situations he has not encountered and he relishes the opportunity to work with a client to explore people-related challenges.

He founded Cube in 2014 to offer a different approach to traditional HR consultancies. The world of work is changing and a different approach is needed, one that seeks to understand different perspectives and involves those who carry out the work leading to better outcomes. Organizations and teams that create a culture that allows for adaptability and development are the ones that will thrive in the future. Roger is uniquely placed to help with this due to his background which combines best practice HR, conflict management, and learning and development, and as well as strong consulting skills and experience he uses coaching, facilitation, and mediation depending on the needs of the situation.

He has a keen interest in how society functions. Academically he has a BA in Economics and Politics and a MA in Mediation and Conflict Intervention but he believes that real learning happens by being an interested observer and participant in the world whether that’s in current affairs, work, and careers, or sports and entertainment.

Roger is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and is a Certified Mediator with the Mediators Institute of Ireland (MII). He also holds memberships and has completed courses accredited by the following professional bodies; the Irish Institute of Training and Development (IITD), the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and is a trained Conflict Management Coach with Cinergy.

If the expertise isn’t in-house we can source and project manage it and we use associates when particular specialisms are required.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What do you help people with?

We work with organizations, teams, and individuals to help them maximize engagement and avoid damaging conflict.

2. How do you do it?

This will depend on their requirements but typically we can provide support ensuring they have the right structures in place including the skills and competencies needed. Then depending on their need we can provide support through consulting, coaching, mediation or facilitation. We work with our clients to create a solution that works for them.

3. Why do you do it?

We believe there are two major problems that need to be addressed in the world of work which are often connected;

  • How to involve people for maximum engagement taking into account different perspectives

  • How to use conflict positively for creativity and innovation without it becoming damaging

4. Who do you work with?

Typically our customers fall into 3 different categories:

  • Leaders that are building a business or non-profit which is growing or aiming to grow but don’t have a need for a full-time senior HR role.

  • HR professionals in larger organisations who understand the need to have external support to help address conflict informally through mediation or other means and/or to be proactive in building engagement through involvement with issues that matter to people.

  • Individuals at all levels in organisations and beyond who want to use challenges as an opportunity to grow and develop.

5. What type of organisations do you provide HR support to?

We have experience working with start-ups to multinational organisations across a wide variety of industries. Typically we work best with organisations who are scaling up where the enterprise is now bigger than the founder(s) and their immediate team and they recognise the need to proactively develop a culture of engagement and performance. In these organisations there is a need for some HR expertise to create the right structures and environment but they don’t need a dedicated HR manager.

6. Do you work with teams within organisations?

Yes, we work with teams to help build their relationship intelligence which allows them to improve engagement levels and have better conversations without damaging conflict. This can either be done proactively or if there is an existing issue we can help through mediation or facilitation.

We have a strong knowledge of employment legislation and best practice and will tailor our solutions to meet a client’s unique needs.
